Summary of the Position Position will assist in Engineering Laboratory activities including prototype development, evaluation, performance testing, certification, and failure analysis.
Will also work with Engineering Team in development, implementation, and maintenance of laboratory build and test facilities and become proficient in their efficient use.
Please note that the applicant awarded this position will initially be scheduled on 1st shift for training and then eventually move to a hybrid 1st/2nd shift schedule.
Qualifications and Education Requirements A 2 year degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent training/work experience is required.
Preferred Skills Maintain knowledge of Liberty Pumps assembly techniques and equipment and provide technical support to these areas as needed.
Participate in activities related to assembly of products for development, validation, and certification testing Participate in development, implementation, and maintenance of laboratory build and test tools and facilities Coordinate testing activities to optimize utilization of equipment and resources Participate in development and maintenance of build and test procedures and conformance to them Champion for Laboratory 5S and Safety Become familiar with the Liberty Pumps ISO 9001:
2000 Forms and Work Instructions as they pertain to his or her efforts Become proficient in use of Liberty's ERP system and other resources used for BOMs, revision info, etc.
Assist team in various development efforts and provide feedback related to design, quality, and assembly Develop and maintain an open, professional working relationship with all internal Liberty Pumps departments and individuals, as well as external vendors and partners as required.
Become familiar with all Liberty processes required for tracking projects, documents, etc.
Requirements (Demonstrable):
Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Extensive knowledge and experience related to production of Liberty Pumps products.
Experience with high voltage electrical hardware installation, wiring, and safety practices.
Candidate must be motivated, skilled at multitasking, eager to learn, and willing to work in a fast-paced team environment.
Computer literate in common word processing and Windows-based programs.
Knowledge of machining, welding, and fabrication practices preferred.
Capable of taking direction as well as working with minimal supervision.
Ability to lift objects up to 51 pounds, occasionally heavier as needed.
Must have the ability to work a split or second shift.
Additional Notes Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a physical and drug test.
